Silene virginica 'Jackson Valentine' - Jackson Valentine Catchfly
Silene virginica ‘Jackson Valentine’ is a North American native perennial noted for its vivid scarlet, deeply notched flowers. The slender blooms appear above green foliage in spring, creating a lively display that is especially attractive to hummingbirds. Its compact, clump-forming habit fits naturally into woodland edges, rock gardens, native plantings and informal borders. This fire pink grows best in sharply drained soil and tolerates dry conditions once established. It may be short-lived but can self-seed in favourable garden settings.
