Penstemon digitalis 'Dakota Burgundy' - Dakota Burgundy Beardtongue
Penstemon digitalis ‘Dakota Burgundy’ is a striking native perennial valued for its rich burgundy foliage and elegant flower display. Deep wine-red leaves emerge in spring and maintain their color throughout the growing season, providing lasting contrast in the landscape. In late spring to early summer, sturdy stems rise above the foliage bearing clusters of tubular white flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Its upright, compact habit makes it an excellent choice for borders, prairie-style plantings, and pollinator gardens. Drought tolerant once established and adaptable to a range of soil conditions, Dakota Burgundy offers season-long interest with minimal maintenance.
