Magnolia ‘Galaxy’ is a striking, upright-growing hybrid magnolia known for its large, tulip-shaped flowers that emerge in late spring just before or as the leaves unfold. The blossoms open from deep reddish-purple buds to reveal rich rose-pink to purplish-pink petals with a lighter, soft pink or rose interior. The flowers are slightly fragrant and often escape late-spring frost, thanks to their later bloom time. The tree’s narrow pyramidal or upright form and ascending branching make it a refined accent or specimen for smaller gardens. Rich green, ovate leaves follow the blooms and provide lush summer foliage.
