Dicentra spectabilis ‘Hearts on Fire’ is a striking bleeding heart that brings vibrant colour to shaded gardens. Brilliant golden-yellow foliage emerges in spring with attractive bronze highlights, creating a beautiful contrast with dark stems. Arching sprays of rich red, heart-shaped flowers hang gracefully above the foliage, providing an extended spring display compared to traditional varieties. Its lush, mounded habit makes it an excellent choice for woodland gardens, shaded borders, and specimen plantings. Deer resistant and attractive to hummingbirds and bees, this hardy perennial thrives in rich, moist, well-drained soil and may go dormant during summer.
