Hakonechloa macra 'Beni-Kaze' - Red Wind Japanese Forest Grass
Commonly known as Japanese Forest Grass ‘Beni-Kaze’ (“Red Wind” in Japanese), is a graceful, clump-forming, deciduous ornamental grass. In spring and summer, it displays soft, arching green foliage, and, as autumn approaches, the blades flush with rich red to burgundy tones. Growing slowly into elegant mounds, it adds flowing movement and seasonal interest to woodland or shade gardens. Highly shade-tolerant and low-maintenance, it thrives in moist, humus-rich soil, resists deer, and suits containers, woodland borders, or mass plantings, providing vibrant autumn color when other plants fade.
