Viola ‘Heartthrob’ is a charming, low-growing perennial prized for its unusually patterned, heart-shaped leaves. Deep burgundy blotches spread across the green foliage, creating eye-catching colour even when the plant is not in bloom. Delicate lavender-violet flowers appear in spring above the compact mound. Its spreading habit is ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders, edging and small-scale groundcover. Best grown in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil, this violet appreciates partial to full shade, especially during hot weather.
