Large, white, star shaped flowers appear a few weeks before the leaves emerge in early spring. Blooms have a light, sweet fragrance. Grows well in fertile, acidic soil but dislikes any root disturbance. A thick layer of mulch will help protect the roots and assist in moisture retention.
