Dwarf deciduous shrub that grows into a compact purple mound contrasted by bright red new growth. Accents of yellow flowers emerge in spring. Crimson berries are displayed in fall through winter. Excellent complement to bright greens and golds in the landscape. Thorny, but useful in barriers, rock gardens, and low traffic areas.
