Large fruit, dark red skin, purplish red flesh is firm and sweet. Ripens mid-August. Production will take 3 to 5 years. All dead branches must be eliminated to prevent diseases. For young plants, a regular supply of water is essential, especially in drought periods. Needs a rich, fresh, well drained soil. Install tree-guard on the trunk in fall.
