A very hardy shrub that is tolerant of cold climates and poor soils. Slender pink buds open to frilly white flowers in the spring, followed by fruit reminiscent of small blueberries. Fall colour is brilliant red and yellow. Use in shrub borders, woodland gardens, or naturalized areas. Supplemental watering may be needed in hot, dry weather.
