Golden, trumpet shaped flowers appear in late spring before the leaves emerge on this hardy, deciduous azalea. Elliptical olive green leaves turn maroon in fall. Rich, well-drained, acidic soil is required for optimal performance. The Northern Lights series of azaleas were bred specifically for their cold hardiness.
